About Me
I’m Raina Tang — a Learning Experience Designer and Trainer who turns complex ideas into engaging, practical learning.
I design solutions that solve real performance challenges, from compliance training and system walkthroughs to interactive eLearning and AI-powered simulations. My work focuses on making learning clear, memorable, and genuinely useful.
I’m especially interested in blending technology with learning design — including AI-driven interactions and gamified experiences.
If you’d like to connect or explore my work, I’d love to collaborate!
2018 - USC, Master’s in Education – TESOL
In 2018, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my master’s in Education at USC, focusing on TESOL. As Vice President of the TESOL Club, I organized events that brought international students together. That experience strengthened my passion for education and the impact of helping people grow through language.
2019 - Manhattan College – ESL Curriculum Intern
After graduating from USC, I joined Manhattan College’s summer program as a teacher and learning designer. I created lessons, tracked progress, and led activities like the ESL Café, where students practiced English in real-life situations. That experience showed me how well-designed curriculum can create meaningful, lasting learning.
2020 - Chinese Language Academy - Curriculum Designer & Mandarin Instructor
When the world shifted in 2020, my classroom became global. I began designing and delivering custom Mandarin lessons for students across continents — from beginners just learning their first phrases to advanced learners working in companies like Apple and Grifols. Many of my students had ties to China through international business, so each lesson was crafted to bridge language and cultural understanding. I loved meeting so many talented professionals, each with their own goals, and adapting my teaching to help them succeed.
2022 - Royal Business Bank - Training Officer → Training & Development Manager
2021 - California State University, Master's in Educational Technology
By 2021, I realized I wanted to merge my love of learning with the creative challenge of design. That’s when I discovered the field of Educational Technology and jumped in headfirst. I immersed myself in instructional design models like ADDIE, SAM, and Action Mapping, learning not just how to build training, but how to design experiences that actually change behavior. It was the perfect bridge between my teaching background and my growing design ambitions.
In 2022, I transitioned into the corporate learning space, joining Royal Business Bank as a Training Officer and later advancing to Training & Development Manager. In this role, I partner with business leaders to identify performance gaps and deliver impactful training solutions across the organization.
Beyond facilitating training, I design and develop e-learning experiences, instructional materials, and blended learning programs that combine scenario-based learning, multimedia content, and interactive elements. I also integrate AI-powered tools and feedback mechanisms to create engaging, practical learning experiences aligned with real business outcomes.
